He didn't just kill those natives he tortured the entire tribe to death. Those who didn't die were shipped of to spain for slavery. They were even used to test the sharpness of knives. The arguement that Columbus was a villain is an interesting one and also backed up with a lot of proof. I'd say it could be interpreted that he was a villain. He proved the whole world wrong and re-established an entirely new system of ideas. I bet half of the world was going insane because of it. That’s a great topic.
