So We’ve long extolled the virtues of the upcoming Nissan GT-R. Namely being that with permanent awd and a turbocharged V6 good for 480 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque all at a msrp of only $69,000, it offers an amazing bang-for-the-buck proposal. Now when we heard there would only be 1,500 GT-R’s coming to the red, white, and blue land we figured the majority of dealers would be upmarking enthusiast drivers. However, we expected it to be about 80 grand or so. WRONG! Read more »

Okay, I know a whole lot of you who have always came to me to ask if I can download a video for them from YouTube for a presentation or project (referring to students in CHS). Well good news folks, I’m unveiling the secret right here in this post. And all you people have to do is click that link that says “Read More,” and no more will you have to ask me, Adelbert, how to do such an amazingly simple thing. The “How to” after the jump.

The State of the Union is quite inhospitable these days!
At last night’s State of the Union address, Hillary and Barack had some encounters that did not seem so friendly. You can judge for yourself, though.

So I was sorta bored last night and decided that I wanted to make Apple Crisp, which is a very simple version of any Apple Pie recipe. To start, grab 3-4 apples, brown sugar, sugar, flour, butter (room temperature), cinnamon, pastry cutter, mixing bowl, 9 inch-or-so baking dish (I used a round one), apple peeler, and a handy dandy knife. Picture of the final product after the jump (meaning, click the Read more! button –>). Read more »

So one of my favorite cars has always been the Mercedes-Benz SL Class. It offers pretty much the perfect combination of style, sport, and luxury. With models ranging from the “homely” SL550 with its 5.5 litre V8 engine offering 382 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque to the monster that is the Sl65 AMG with a twin-turbo 6.0 litre V12, 604 horsepower and an earth-moving 738 lb-ft of torque, the hardtop roadster has always provided the pinnacle of Mercedes sport and luxury at any price (as long as it’s more than $100,000). Well, Mercedes-Benz felt the current SL(pictured immediately after the jump) was getting a little raggedy-looking so in the midst of a mid-life crisis they took it under the knife to get a little work done. The changes and pics after the break. Read more »

With the coming election, it is important to begin to investigate the political atmosphere.
Already, with only an extremely small portion of the population voting, we have seen multiple candidates drop out. On the democrats’ side: Joe Biden, Bill Richardson, Chris Dodd, and finally Kucinich; on the republicans’: Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson.
So with those candidates that remain, let’s look at some details… the good, the bad, and the UGLY. Read more »

The 2008 movie year has, in my opinion, officially started. This afternoon, I watched the movie that everyone has been talking about (praise or just plain bitching). Cloverfield is JJ Abram’s vision of a true disaster-monster film (yes, it is a monster and yes, you get to see what it looks like). The film chronicles the terrifying journey of some hip New Yorkers in the aftermath of a monster attack and a rudely interrupted going-away party through the perspective of a home video camera. The Blair Witch Project (which I haven’t seen and don’t intend to) meets Godzilla, Cloverfield succeeds where these two movies apparently fail. While some say The Blair Witch Project bored them, Cloverfield is wholly riveting, with its incredible attack sequences complete with tanks, jets, and missiles. While Godzilla is impersonal, Cloverfield strictly focuses on the seemingly real characters and their struggles. I thought this movie was truly entertaining and it is just ridiculous how people bitch about and trash it for reasons that arise solely from their ridiculous expectations. Read more »

So, for the past few months I had the pleasure of using Sony Ericsson’s W580. I came across this phone by accident of breaking my other phone, and I must say, I am impressed with my decision in such short notice.
As a slider phone, its only 14 mm thick and weighs only 3.3 oz.
The screen resolution features a 240×320 visual display with 262,144 Color TFT LCD. The design is absolutely.. sexy. Sporting a thin look with a display of lights when use the phone, the W580 is really one of a kind.
The features of this phone include Read more »

OK so for all of you who regularly frequent this blog (although I doubt there is anyone), you’ll know that Noelbert recently wrote this article: http://roastlechon.com/2008/01/08/thinnest-plasma-or-tv-ever/ about the thinnest tv ever. Well the Pioneer Kuro concept might actually be the thinnest ever at only 9 mm, but it’s still a concept and that means none of you can buy it. Well that’s where this one comes in. The Sharp Aquos X may be about 4 times thicker at 34 mm (1.35 inches), but it’s a TV all of you can actually buy, and thus it’s infinitely more siginificant than the Kuro. The beauty’s not all in the aesthetics though, as this LCD TV offers 120hz refresh rates, 15,000:1 contrast ratios, 3 way 8 speaker system, 3 HDMI 1.3A ports, and a DVI out for PC, along with ethernet and firewire. These will officially be out in March in 37, 42, and 46 inch sizes. There’s no price yet, but does it really matter? You know you want one. I’ll admit I do.

So, do you have a young kid? Do you have the internet? Are you afraid? Well you should be. As we all know, the internet can be a great resource for learning and it can teach you everything you might need to know and yada yada yada. Well, whatever; we all know that for the most part we all spend probably 95% of our time on the internet playing games, chatting, procrastinating… generally wasting time. So sure, it’s easy for kids to accidentally type the wrong word into google and end up with a shitload of porn, or for them to befriend the wrong 14 year-old girl who actually ends up being a 42 year-old guy named Bill with a strange affinity for children. Well if you have children and you’re afraid of this happening, then keep reading and maybe your child will survive…(cue dramatic music here) the internet…
