Behind the Scenes

Noel Madali: Hello there. My name is Noel Madali. I am a male in the International Baccalaureate Program attending Campbell High School. Well as you can see, I am a web designer from what you can tell, but I am many things more as you are about to see. Aside from web designing, photography is another hobby of mine, as well as cooking, baking, sleeping, hanging out with friends, playing the cello, listening to music, and many more. Turning the age of 16 in the year of 2005, I celebrate about 5 years of computer know how.Besides being a computer guru, my cultural background originates from the Philippines. Both of my parents are Filipino from the island of Romblon. They came here and had 4 children, me being the last.

Quan Vo: Hey people; this is Quan and if you ever see the username vmquan with any number following, it’s probably me so feel free to give me any suggestions, praise, or hate on me, whatever you want. So anyway Noel and I decided over Winter Break that we were both broke and a blog could be a fun way to make some money, hence, the creation of good old Roastlechon.

So unlike Vu, I don’t limit myself to any one genre. I write about cars, sports, entertainment, video games, tech stuff, humour pieces, pretty much anything. Like everyone else here I go to Campbell too and am also in IB. I’m Vietnamese and proud of it, born there and everything. We came to Atlanta in 1991 and for a short while we moved to Toronto and then Los Angeles before coming back. The weather here is better than in Toronto and everything is cheaper than in L.A. So right now life’s good (but we’ll see how long that lasts); I like having fun, and I’ll help try to keep things around here interesting, so stick around.

Vu Le: Hi everyone, I’m Vu Le aka vu4vendetta (MSN) and I’m one of the new additions to roastlechon.com. As if you can’t tell from my posts already, my specialty is entertainment news. Like Adelbert, I am also a student at Campbell High School and am also in the International Baccalaureate Program. I like to indulge in the latest music, movies, and books and you may find some reviews on the blog. I’m very open-minded and I watch everything and anything—from chick flicks to documentaries. I’ll watch anything once.

I’m originally from Vietnam, thus adding to the Southeast Asian flavor of the blog. My family arrived in the United States (namely Georgia) in 1993 (I was three at the time) and we stayed in Georgia until 1997. In 1998, we enjoyed a brief stint in Las Vegas, Nevada and after realizing that we couldn’t be permanent tourists and that the extended family wasn’t exactly the most welcoming, we moved back to Georgia.

Logan Casurkis: Logan Casurkis is the politics/current events correspondent here at Roastlechon.  His expertise in this field is supported by his many years of being enveloped in the political world.  Casurkis is also interested in languages and law.  Prior to his career in politics, he plans to become a lawyer specializing in some sort of international law.  The next language he plans to learn is Mandarin Chinese.

Besides these interests, Casrukis is an aficionado of tea, coffee, chocolate, cheese, and olive oil.

About the Site

My personal websites that I (Noel) have created over the years come and go, but I intend to keep this one the longest as I transition it from personal site to a multi-user blog. Polishing off my web designing skills, I have created many versions of my websites in as little time as a month. My taste in design changes every now and then as artists should know. Inspiration from other websites catch my eye and motivate me to do better.

“Roastlechon” is the first version of its kind, as it is the first time I ever used Wordpress, now that I understand how to use it… Completely relying on CSS and the powers of Wordpress, I sculpted this website with my mind and hands.

The name “Roastlechon” is actually a redundant phrase. Lechon, meaning roasted pig, is a food dish that is popular in the Filipino culture. Although slightly repetitive I chose the name due to its uniqueness and a reflection of my heritage.

Noel’s Gadgetry

Everybody has to have gadgets right? Well my gadgets are pretty spiffy. If you don’t mind me showing off, I have a Averatec Laptop, a custom built PC, Sony Ericsson W580 cell phone, Fuji Finepix S9000 digital camera, 1997 Toyota Camry, and a RIO Karma MP3 player. To build my website, I used Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Illustrator CS2, Adobe Macromedia Dreamweaver 8, and Notepad. I used Wordpress along with other plugins to help with functionality.
